An effective AIDC solution relies on the performance of printers & labels. Wheither it concerns barcode labels or an integrated RFID chip, the quality of the used material is the starting point. Therefore the choice of printer type, media & services is important. A proper barcode print or correct programmed RFID chip facilitates fast scanning with less or even zero data errors.

The size of the print and the desired quality define to a large extent which printer technique you want to deploy. The local circumstances and the way you are going to use the printing are also relevant: Do you want an A3 format carbon copy in an industrial setting, 24 x 7, or a very small label for blood tubes in a sterile environment? The requirements for printers are very diverse. Therefore it is important to be able to choose from a wide range. For example: a print width of 2 or 8 inch, a desktop type or a rugged industrial printer, connectivity via Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, USB, RS-232 or Centronix.
