Barcode
For over 30 years barcodes are being used succesfully. The lineair or 1D barcode is still the most used automatic identification technique. However stacked barcodes and especially 2D barcodes (more information on a smaller tag) are being used more and more lately.
Through the years a lot of different applications have been realized with barcodes. They are used on items, boxes, bags, shipments persons, inventory, plants, flowers, tickets, pallets, files, price tags etcetera.
Regardless of the situation: Printing & scanning works at its best in combination with the right labels. Those labels facilitate barcode prints which can be scanned without problems/errors. For the best result, the choice of label material has to match with the printer and the circumstances on site. PHI DATA uses tags with different materials such as thermic & thermal transfer paper, board, polyethyleen, polypropyleen & polyester.
Barcodes are not only used for identification of products. They also have an added value for racking: Identifying the right locations in warehouses & DC's with tags, so forklift drivers & orderpickers can find their items faster. PHI DATA has a lot of knowledge in this area and applies the right techniques for every situation to accomplish an optimal match between barcodes & scanners.
